I’ve been working hard at getting all of the visas required for my upcoming gig with Semester at Sea, and I’m currently applying for a visa to Ghana.

Need to apply for a tourist visa to Ghana? Follow these steps:

You’ll need:

  • 4 printed visa application
  • 4 passport-size photographs
  • Valid passport
  • Travel itinerary
  • Proof of finance
  • Prepaid return envelope
  • $50 (for a single-entry visa) or $80 (for a multiple-entry visa)

1. Download, print and fill out the visa application form from GhanaEmbassy.org.

2. Gather your documents. You’ll need a passport with 6 months validity, bank statements that show financial stability or a letter of invitation, a copy of your travel itinerary, and 4 passport-sized photos.

3. Place the application forms, documents, your passport, and a prepaid return envelope large enough to carry your passport and application fee in one large mailing envelope. The application fee is either $60 for a single-entry visa or $100 for a multiple-entry visa. Make payments in either money order, cashier’s check or certified bank checks. Personal checks are not accepted, and it’s never wise to send cash.

4. Send your application to: The Consular Section 3512 International Dr. NW Washington DC, 20008

It takes anywhere from 2-4 weeks to get a visa for Ghana, but the process is generally quick. Voila! You’ll be in Ghana before you know it!
