American Airlines to Charge for Coach Seats

by Kelly on August 18, 2010

This is getting ridiculous!
Just yesterday I wrote about how airline fees are getting out of control in this economy, and we are left to deal with the damage.

Now, American Airlines has announced they will charge passengers an additional fee ranging from $19-$39, per flight, for the front seats of coach class.

Oh, and that comes on top of checked baggage fees, which have become the airlines’ standard.

They dress up the importance of these seats by calling them “Express Seats,” and these passengers will be allowed to board with the first group as part of the purchase.

You can read the whole article here.

So, you want us to pay almost $40 for a coach seat towards the front? C’mon! Coach is coach! What’s next? A charge to use the bathroom at the front of the plane? An extra fee for toilet paper?

Crazy.. What’s your reaction?
