5 Days to Plan with Friends this Summer in Australia

Bondi
Summer is almost here in Australia and long weekends await you and your crew of sun, surf and sand seekers; or perhaps not, while a little saltwater here and there brings equilibrium to a holiday by the coast, there are so many things to do off the beach, you should plan ahead and narrow down five days of must-do’s, just for the sake of variety.

Look at it this way, when you return to work or Uni, you don’t want to say you spent two weeks tanning or roasting by the pool, the beet-red/salon bronze effect will only get you so far and better stories will take airtime. Stand out come summer review, round up a few friends and make sure this sunshine period is the time of your life just waiting to happen.

Day 1: The Daintree

Get ready to sweat, as the Daintree Rainforest undulates before you, an emerald blanket of native flora, housing a rich diversity of animals and scenic vistas. Tap into your inner explorer, pack a tent, call the group and get ready to immerse yourself in the oldest rainforest in the world, born 160 million years prior to your feet first touching the earth. You have two choices, organise a guided, expect tour through this bustling cradle of life, or take matters into your own hands and plot your own path around Cape Tribulation. Either option will be a good choice, but make sure to stay ethical, not to dump any food or rubbish and contribute to the ongoing longevity to this brilliant jewel of the Australian landscape.

Day 2: Wet ‘N’ Wild

It’s wickedly hot. Already, your skin is melting away, pooling at your feet as the office aircon struggles to cope with a room full of warm bodies. Save yourself and your mates, pack the car and head to Wet ‘n’ Wild. This Gold Coast water park is a slippery wonderland of rides and slides, looping over each other and under, towering over wave simulators and chilled out tube lagoons.
Highlights: The Black Hole is a cunning good time, encapsulating tube cruisers into a dark tunnel, full of unexpected twists and turns, without the comfort of visibility and anticipation. You are completely at the mercy of the tunnel. Check out their website and don’t be afraid to dive in!

Day 3 – 5: The Blue Mountains

A NSW arm of the Great Dividing Range, the Blue Mountains start their ascent fifty kilometres west of suburban Sydney, offering some the most awe-inspiring sights and experiences in the world. There aren’t many places travellers can have their pick of horseback adventures, rugged 4WD’ing trails, challenging rock surfaces and climbing routes, word class cyclo-cross tracks, canyoning and caving, wildlife parks and general good times. The problem with the Blue Mountains? You won’t want to leave its sandstone ridges and rivets in the rear-view mirror.
What are you waiting for? Open another browser, Google your destination and start planning your next adventure getaway with your nearest and dearest. After all, Australia is full of surprises, what will you discover?
